Brittany Fournier; documentarian, self-portrait artist, renowned event photographer

At nine years old, I held a disposable camera to my eye and took a photograph of fall leaves and storm clouds. In my head, a poignant memory, I said to myself: “I want to be a photographer when I grow up.”

I did just that.

I am a graduate of the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, a joint program between Daytona State College and the University of Central Florida. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Photographic Technology.

Throughout my time in school, I was trained to work any device able to make imagery. Therefore, I am able to quickly problem solve on set and location.

I am a known photographer. I have worked for publications such as Orlando Magazine, Orlando Wedding Magazine, and Lake Mary Healthy Living Magazine. I have stood through my viewfinder before bands such as Metric, Streetlight Manifesto, and The Postal Service. I have been selected press for conventions such as Metrocon, Fantasm Orlando, and Anime Festival Orlando. In Fayetteville, TN, I am on the wedding venue list at Sacred Stone, as well as at WaterVue on Brook’s Street in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. I am listed for cinematic features under IMBd.

Despite all these lines for my resume, there is one thing that sets me apart from all other photographers:

I am always photographing. I am always seeing.

In the words of Diane Arbus,

“I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them.”
